Problem: The Cairo Metro system is flawed. It’s stressful and time-consuming to buy tickets in the long kiosk lines, and it’s difficult to navigate the bustling, complicated railway system. To make things worse, the app is outdated and hard to understand for non-Arabic speakers.
Solution: With simplicity in mind, I redesigned the whole app. I updated the logo, color palette, and app icons, as well as the Metro map, to make it easier for everyone to use. Most importantly, I added new language options so even tourists can navigate the app easily. The new app improves every step of the Cairo Metro experience, from purchasing a ticket to arriving at your destination.
